[August] What are you reading?

I'm re-reading David Drakes "Hammers Slammers" series, and had forgotten how awsome they were. I'm also re-reading "The General" series by David Drake and SM Sterling (which, like Hammers Slammers, I havent read in years).

Just finished A Clash of Kings. Going back and finishing the Annotated Chronicles. I stopped after DoAT, it's tough to reread, even with the annotations, when there so much new to read and I don't spend a whole lot of time reading, but I figured I should finish it.

I've just begun reading Once in a Lifetime: The Incredible Story of the New York Cosmos by Gavin Newsham.

The similarly-named movie (Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos) that's based on the book has already opened theatrically in New York City and in a few other select markets, and will open in more markets during the next few weeks. It'll then both be released on DVD and air on ESPN/ESPN2 this fall.

A remaindered copy of New Spring by Robert Jordan (I refused to buy it new...I mean who brings out a meaningless prequel in the midst of a monster saga). and then its on to Saving Solace ( a Dragonlance novel...what can I say...they are my weakness).

I managed to get through "Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince" and "Ivanhoe" while on holiday, and felt ready to resume reading "Iron Council". I should get that finished in the next couple of weeks.

After that, it's either "The Darkness That Comes Before" by R. Scott Bakker or "Troy: Lord of the Silver Bow" by David Gemmell.

Currently working on The Vor Game, by Lois McMaster Bujold. Part of a paperback collection titled Young Miles, which puts a few early Vorkosigan stories into one tome.

After that, I may dive into a book I picked up on my vacation - Hawai'ian mythology, collected from the oral tradition in the 1890s by a member of the Hawai'ian royalty...
