Austin Games Day-January 24, 2004--Calling all GMs and players

xrpsuzi

First Post
A day of free gaming and give aways at the first ENworld Austin Games Day! Please post on the thread if you're interested in running or playing in a game, and I'll updated the info in this post.

GM's-please let me know which session (AM or PM), how many players for your game, and a description.

Date:Saturday January 24, 2004

Location-
Dragon's Lair
4910 Burnet Road
Austin, TX 78756
(512) 454-2399
A big thanks to Dragon's Lair for opening up their store and supply the tables and chairs at no charge. For those with animal allergies, they have resident cats. Extra parking in the back.

Supporting publishers:
Mystic Eye Games, Expeditious Retreat Press, Ronin Arts, Creative Mountain Games

Schedule-

Breakfast- Not really an event unless people want it to be. I fully understand if getting an hour or two more sleep on Saturday morning is more important than eating breakfast with people that you will spend the rest of the day with. :) That being said, Joe and I are going to have breakfast at the Omletry, across the street from Dragon's Lair. Excellent food. Only takes cash. Service slows down with large groups. Support your local diner!

Garmorn, let me know what slot you want to run stargate and I'll put you down.

If any other publishers want to throw in some prizes, chime in and I'll list it under support pushlishers on the first post.

Dragon's Lair is comfortable with 3 games at each session. Other than that, let the sign-up begin.

Why isn't it somewhere else?

Sorry for coming to the discussion really late, but why isn't the game day being held at a different neutral location like it has in the past?

Dave may just throw me out if I try to show up ;-)

Not sure if I'll be allowed in with various prizes either if I volunteer such.

Suzi,

I would prefer the T20 game to be in session two -- I'm not much of a morning person. :)

Also, a friend of mine will be coming with me, and he wants to play in the T20 game. His name is Mark.

Thanks

I'll be there. My wife will probably be there.

I'm going to wait and see what the various games are before I sign up. I'd really love the opportunity to actually play some good ol' D&D, since I've run almost every game I've been involved with for the past three years. :)

Surely someone's actually going to run some D&D?

I'm playing in whatever Ari's running. :D

Um... you are in Session two, but you are the first game in session two. I wouldn't make you run a game in the morning :)

As for neutral spaces.... we had a hard time finding a free venue that provided tables and chairs and would let us game for 11 hours. We are not locked in with this venue, so if you know of another place that could offer us the same arrangement, please come forward.

Also, if people are worried about the table restriction, we could have a table of non-rpg's, like card or board games that have a faster rotation time than nigh 5 hours. I'm leaving that open for discussion, provided we have a "master of games" for such a table.

p.s. wil, I don't know if you read this on the dead game day thread, but could you pass my e-mail to Bree about getting a local spycraft game? suzi_and_joe@hotmail.com
thanks!

I passed it along to her. :)

I also might be bringing some board games along to play and let be played.
