Though you are feeling very clear in both your knowledge in Spellcraft and in Arcana, clear to the point of knowing mor ethan more powerful sorcerors might at times, you cannot think of any creature or magic even remotely like this. This is unlike anythign you have ever seen.

There are a few nearby injured you hlep, who thnks you appreciatively, if they are conscious.

Intrigued and slightly bewildered by the sudden turn of events, Ignazio stands up, and looks out into the street, wondering if any of the local watch will turn up. Obviously, whatever just occured is beyond his understanding, but he doubts very much that it is beyond the ability of a greater skilled wizard.

[obviously a giant plot hook has just descended from the sky, but not knowing entirely where to go with it, some nudging could help]

The Nudge

(well to a degree it's supposed to be very confusing but here comes your nudge)

A man, who is obviously a wizard of somekind seems to be investingating near the destroyed wall. He is dressed in black robes and his face is hidden he comes up to you and says.

A mystery has just occured
The monster flew like a bird
If you seek you will find
A clue of a sort or kind

This I found, I give to you
For I can see your heart is true
I could stop this thing we see
But why not solve a mystery?

You will need companions three
If you are to solve this mystery
I suggest those over there
Your four would make a nice double pair

Now save the world, my young one!
And while your at it, have some fun!

With that, the strange man leaves, leaving you only a small golden ring inset with a bright green gem.

As soon as he recovers from the explosion, Mulch draws his greatsword and rushes towards the hole.

"With all that is holy...!!" He looks about, obviously ready, and perhaps a little eager, to start swinging at anything that looks threatening, particularly the bard. But seeing that whomever or whatever caused the explosion has fled, he soon relaxes. He then immediately turns his attention to the closest injured, and quickly attends to them, including using a healing spell, (if it's necessary to save someone's life).

As he he finishes taking care of the wounded, the Cleric notices the wizard, and overhears his phrophecy. He also notices him hand some object to the sorceror looking fellow. Curious, and a little suspicious, Mulch walks over to Ignazio, and demands, "Who was that, and what did he give you?"

(Although it's not clearly stated, I'm assuming that the bard disappeared with the explosion. If that's different, let me know and I will adjust my post, especially if either he's among the dead or is still in the tavern.)

Ignazio's gaze slowly turns to look down at the crude dwarf, "I assume your tone is from your frustration, and not in any way directed towards me. Whoever he was, he is gone now. However, this," he holds up the ring to look at it, then muttering an few arcane words [casting detect magic], he examines it a bit closer. "I imagine, is of some relevence to what just happened here."

Mulch, mollified that the sorceror had nothing to do with what happened here, says, "You know who it was? It was that bard. I knew there was something wrong with him."

He leans forward to peer at the ring, as Ignazio concentrates on it, taking note of its size and material, but careful not to distract from his spellcasting.
