Mulch looks around the tavern, surveying the wreckage and death surrounding him, quite certain it is all the work of that bard. Incensed at the thought that not only would someone have wantonly caused such destruction, but then return to the scene and taunt the survivors, he feels motivated to seek vengeance for those who cannot do so for themselves.
To those standing near him, Mulch says, Well, if there was any doubt in my mind of the bard's involvement, that display just dispelled it. I am determined to bring him to justice, and end whatever evil plot he is hatching, by sword if necessary. Will any of you brave fellows join me? The tone of his voice suggests that if anyone says no, they have proven themselves not so brave after all.
(i'm not sure what obvious avenue is waiting for us to follow, but i get the feeling that because of our slow posting, and the lack of any clear goals at the moment, people might be losing their enthusiasm. i hope that isn't the case, because i was pretty excited when we got started. personally, i feel the gm could really help by providing some better structure for what is happening around us, with clearer descriptions. that doesn't mean railroading us in one particular direction, but providing more information as to what is happening around us. if a character says they are going to help some of the wounded, provide a detailed description of who's hurt, and how badly. how are the other patrons reacting to the explosion? to the deaths of the waitress and others? to the bard's reappearance and display of magic? where is the tavern owner in all this, and what does he have to say about it? (that's who i'm planning to approach next?) what might seem obvious to you, might not be obvious to us, or maybe not to all of our characters, so by providing more information of what's happening, it can provide more opportunities for us to roleplay. for example, if the obvious thing we should be doing involves the ring, well, only one character has that ring, and that leaves very little for the others to do. for me personally, i feel like things got off to a slow start, with no clear idea for our characters on how they should be approaching their location or each other. i think if the gm starts adding more flavor, it will hopefully motivate us, the player characters, to post more often and with more description of our own. my playing style tends to be more of reacting to the situation my characters are placed in, looking for opportunities to develop my character, rather than be the initiator, although i've started taking on that role. but even if my character might develop into a leader, it will help us immensely, if we have more information to react to, even if that information is not directly related to the central plot. in any case, that's just my two cents, in terms of what i would like to see. and i think if everyone gave their own description of what they'd like to see, including the gm, then it can give the gm a better idea of the types of players he has to work with, and all of us a better idea of our fellow players and gm.)
