The Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and Oscars approach. What are your predictions?

(if awards mean nothing to you, no need to take the trouble to let us know; this thread isn't for you)

I've seen few of the likely candidates this year, sadly. I'll be trying to make up what I can though.

Birdman will probably do well in a lot of categories.

It is in competition with Selma, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, Grand Budapest Hotel, and Unbroken for most of the same categories. I imagine it to be a tough year.

I concur. However, I give Birdman the edge because of the deep bench with so many excellent performances, it's daring direction, and a dynamite script. All of the rest seem like big (possibly important) movies with stand out performances and solid direction.

Golden Globes are tonight (though you can only watch them if you're American - they seem to object heavily to anybody else seeing them).

Granted there are other collations of this information, but here's this:
Golden Globes Awarded In Movies:

Boyhood won three (3), for:
Motion Picture, Drama
Director (Richard Linklater)
Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette)

Birdman won two (2), for:
Actor, Musical or Comedy (Michael Keaton)
Screenplay (Inarritu, Giacobone, Dinelaris, Bo)

The Theory of Everything won two (2), for:
Actor, Drama (Eddie Redmayne)
Original Score (Johann Johannsson)

Big Eyes won for Actress, Musical or Comedy (Amy Adams)
The Grand Budapest Hotel won for Picture, Musical or Comedy
How to Train Your Dragon 2 won for Animated Film
Leviathan won for Foreign Language
Selma won for Original Song ("Glory")
Still Alice won for Actress, Drama (Julianne Moore)
Whiplash won for Supporting Actor (J.K. Simmons)

I suspect it's just about managing the number of awards. Similarly there are separate awards for actor and actress (drama and musical/comedy) but not for supporting actor and actress.
