Babies and Wet-Nurses: A Conversation

Also OOC

We should be able to ask this without giving a specific reason:
We are at war. For the hope of future generations we need to know if there are women willing to act as nursemaids. If orphans are found they need to have a place to go, as I hope we are not okay with letting them die.

How would the Amastatians view the whole nursemaid idea?
They're fine with it. If mom is available, that's usually for the best. But if the actual mother is not (for whatever reason) a nursemaid is far better than simply letting the child starve.

As I stated before, with the amount of cities that have been hit and the vast levels of population there have to some people who have already done this. I'm not saying we have hundreds of women searching for this position, but it does happen and is not a far fetching idea.
You can probably find another woman who's capable of providing the secret princess milk. The question is if you can find one with even the vaguest combat capabilities that seem to be a requirement for the position. A woman without such preexisting abilities cannot be trained to them while pregnant, and there's not enough time between when a woman might lose a child (and still be producing milk) and when the princess is born to properly train her, either.

So, in this case, you're mostly looking for already-capable women who will give birth at about the same time Jaine will.

keep going with the IC thing, but I was trying to simply ask or find out if we couldn't ask Freckles to make a mother like bag. We can get milk, and even specific milk from mommies in the area (even Jaine secretly) and feed the kid that way. No need to indanger yet another individual or thier kid.
Freckles might be able to make a...jug...or something....that can do the job. However, wherever the milk comes from, it has to be the same woman, consistently...at least until the child no longer requires milk in the same quantities.

Shortly after mammals are born, their mothers produce a special kind of milk that's rich with antibodies and nutrients that "regular" milk just doesn't have - that's why it's so important to find a woman that's on the same (or almost the same) term as Jaine. After a certain point (within weeks of birth) any milk will do...but at first, that special milk is a necessity for survival.

OOC- did she take the seat?

Smiling wishfully, "I wish someday to have children as well. The light has given you a rare gift, to love a child and the love of its father."

Through the rings, "I am NOT going to ask her to endanger herself or the child, so if you wish this done. Ask her."
She sits. "Though my child will have its father's love, it will have to subside on such love from a distance...duty have pulled us from one another permanently." She looks skyward, "from the highest place, he will look down upon the both of us with longing, and love. It may not be all that I could have asked for, but it will be enough." She pauses. "Enough for both of us."

OOC.... Do da day

So if possible to secretly do it we can use Jaine's milk, as the other kid will be on the exact same schedule. Dorn and/or Preston can be charged with getting the milk to us and can be trusted for thier secrecy on the issue.

L'Aurel kneels beside Janstens chair looking at Dara, "May I ask how your husband passed away?"

Ring: "I do not think we'll be asking Lady Goldenblade to undertake this task, L'Aurel. It could cause unforseen...complications."

It's possible, yes.

I don't know if it's the best plan, but it could work.

It also requires you telling Freckles (or at least hinting broadly) as to why you'd need such a device.

Ring: "Then why did we bring her here? She seems like a nice enough person that I could easily become friends with, but I would choose a different way to get to know someone."

Something flashes behind her eyes, so quickly that you cannot be sure what. "He passed from me while fulfilling his duty. In the north."

Archonus just found out that he has a child, but the mother is dead. Archonus will not leave the child behind, but we will not endanger other people. That's what the story is and that's what we tell him.

or at least that's what I think was stated as the story....

"So he was a fellow of the rebellion?"
