D&D 5E Background ToC TIDBIT

This is probably the worst sneak preview I have ever seen, especially given that we've already seen this stuff in the Basic Set. There is literally nothing here. Aargh.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke. Trevor seemed to be teasing someone who asked for a 'backgrounds table of contents'. Clearly the tweeter was hoping for a list of the backgrounds, and I'm sure Trevor knew that. No accident that he cut it off right at the bottom of backgrounds so that you couldn't even get a page count.

I suspect there will be something more substantive coming in the next day or so.

Don't forget the "Everyone Close to Me is Dead" and "Cool Looking Badass Loner" backgrounds. Oh, and "Pretty Much Me with a Sword." That's popular, too.
I'm holding out for "Murder Hobo" and "Man With No Name".

With some googling, I've decided you're making a Simpsons reference.

I'm too good a person to watch television. Are you implying 5e isn't for me? 5e doesn't need "my kind", is that it?

:P

Thaumaturge.

Apologies for crossing streams and mixing genre specific metaphors like that...
I had just read a Simpsons related tweet and was thinking in that frame of reference when I read your post which reminded me of an old school Simpsons scene that still makes me giggle 20-odd years later.

So take it as a compliment I guess?

Thaumaturge, I owe you about 50 XP at this point, since the site won't let me give you more but you have certainly earned them. :)

The only downside is that sadly, your XP total has taken you to level 10, whereby you are no longer level 9, which is called a Thaumaturgist. If you could have been Thaumaturge the Thaumaturgist, who was also thaumaturging, I think you would have been automatically retroactively inserted into a Joseph Heller book.

Alas, that moment will never happen. Again.
