[Bad Axe] July "HOHF" Charity Sale

"Heroes of High Favor" supports "Helping Our Heroes Foundation."

To show our support for the U.S. Armed Forces during the month of July, Bad Axe Games will donate 100% of the proceeds from all PDF sales of Heroes of High Favor products, our best-selling PDFs, to the Helping Our Heroes Foundation.

"The Helping Our Heroes Foundation provides a way for donated funds and services to directly reach our injured military and a way for concerned Americans to volunteer to actively support our armed forces. The role of the foundation is to provide mentors and patient advocates, identify and fund educational opportunities for the soldier, coordinate specialty counseling (financial assistance, career, housing, etc.), and assist with emergency funding needs as deemed appropriate."

In addition, for every PDF copy sold, I will donate a print version of the book to Games For GI's.

In effect, Bad Axe Games is offering a 3-for-1 deal: you'll get your PDF (at a special Independence Day sale price), all proceeds will go to the Helping Our Heroes Foundation, and a print copy of the book will go to a deserving military gamer.

Please join me during the month of July in a show of support for our troops through these two worthwhile causes.

Thanks so much for helping us out.

I'd like to add if anyone has a friend or loved one overseas who would like to recieve a gamer care package chock-full of goodies from nearly 20 different game companies (thus far), addresses and system/game preferences (if any, or state if they'd just like to be surprised) can be sent to zacharythefirst@hotmail.com. Our goal is to make every care package complete with everything folks need (dice, writing supplies, games) to play 2-3 different games.

Again, thanks to Bad-Axe Games and everyone else who's decided to help make things a bit better for some incredibly deserving people.

Like Zach the First, I can empathize with how great it feels to receive a care package with a couple gaming goodies inside. Even though I never had a group overseas or much time to play, it was awesome to have new material just to read.

On that note, "donations" in the form of magazine subscriptions (ala Dungeon and Dragon) can be the gift that keeps on giving). I'd like to see Paizo get involved.

Speaking of getting involved, my helm's off to Mr. Durbin, Mr. Cha, and all the other publishers that are doing their part. Seems like an excellent cause that's attracted some excellent folks.

With sincere appreciation,
D

This is great, Ben! I noticed you also committed to making donations for this cause and I think that is awesome. Yet another reason I am so proud to have you as a member of Indie Press Revolution (IPR)! I'm trying to encourage other IPR members to participate in this, but really, anyone can help out. Even if it's just a few unused or lightly used books you have lying around, send them to someone who might appreciate them! It's a great feeling to know that something you've done has made someone on the other side of the planet happy. :D

Absolutely! Brennan at IPR has also signed on to help us out--just another great reason to support IPR. I can't tell you enough how much this will mean to our gamin' troops over there. Both Open World Press and Bad Axe have taken a lead in supporting us, and that's the sort of thing that makes you want to keep coming back to a company...
