Bah. Who cares about D&D 3.5? Monte's Arcana Unearthed will be much cooler.

I HAVE seen it is is well done and a real fine system and I am honored to be working on this setting with Monte. It is new, and balanced and fun and can be used with 3e but not required. I will say that when it comes out officially I would like to play in the AU setting with my group of players. It is also being playtested extensively for any issues before release.

Monte's Arcana Unearthed, however, will be fresh, vibrant, and exciting.

"Fresh, vibrant, exciting" here seem to be cues for "rather unlikely to fit my campaign."

Different is not necessarily better. Monte is usually pretty imaginative, so I imagine there is something there I will use. But really, in my game, the group is the source of fresh vibrant excitingness, and anything that assists in facilitating that is a boon.

Who cares. It is a book written to be different purely for the sake of being different. [/B][/QUOTE]

In your opnion. And even if true...whats that got to do with its quality and content?

I'm pretty intrigued to see what D&D might be like without magic missile, cure light wounds, fireball, orcs, etc. But I wonder if it will include dungeons, or dragons?

I think its due out at GenCon, but I may be mistaken.

The reason why I will put my money for UA before 3.5e is because of everything I have read about it. It is different, totally new races, each unique and different than what has been presented previously and designed around a completely new magic system and a new world.

Of all the ones presented previously, the two I do like is Wheel of Time and Sovereign Stone, but they do use a typical races (with the exception of Ogier in WoT, but they are recommended not to play unless a person definately has read the books) and they are similar in feel to already released D&D that UA will be taken as totally fresh in concept and design.

plus, 3.5e is just a revision of what we already know and love, and UA is taking this d20 system and going a step further (I think anyways).

I'm not going to get 3.5. The SRD is enough for me, I've already got a hard copy rules book, even if it's a few years out of date. But I am going to get UA. It looks cool. I like cool things.
