Barbarian Building!

Dangit! Kreynolds changed his sig-line. That means I must come up with a cute sayin' to replace this evil 'H' person.

My suggestions would be: Rogue/Barbarian. The idea is really neat. I like it. :) Or, Fighter/Barb. Use the first 2 or 3 feats you get (start as fighter), for your two weapon-whatsits. So a Ftr2/Barb8 or Ftr4/Brb6 is going to clean house.

As for the lack of Cheese, I'd say that a Fighter/Barb would be a soldier who has post-tramatic stress syndrom. His rages are flashbacks. They get worse, and more frequent, as he advances.

I just wanna add: Opportunist is reeeeeeaaaly nice when you are doing 1d10+20+5d6 (or more) on that extra attack. Even better if you double-hand it, 2d6+25+5d6, or more (PA, Str buffs, rage, etc), and then get a crit on 18+ with Imp Crit: Greatsword. Thats alot of extra damage in a round :D

How in love with two weapon fighting are you?

The reason I ask is you would do better with the Strength bonus from Rage if you went with a 2H weapon. The reason that lots of people are suggesting you combine it with rogue is the bonus dice of Sneak Attack apply to either weapon, while a strength bonus is halved on the off hand weapon.

It is also true that you really will not get many feats as a Barbarian, so there might be a better way to spend your feats than getting two weapon fighting.

One day, I will see someone take more than one level of ranger... one day.... :D

*Cheesy Self-Promotion* Did you see my combination of the Ranger and Barbarian classes in the House Rules section? */Cheesy Self-Promotion* ;)

Honestly, I think DnD only needed one "woodsman" class. It's like they used 1 tablespoon of peanut butter to make two sandwiches. Single-classed Rangers and Barbarians are "bread sandwiches." Too thinned out...

favorite barbarian feats

My favorite Barbarian feats:

Improved Initiative: Kill enemy spellcasters before they cast spells.

Power Attack: Smash the unarmored foes.

Cleave: Kill two for the price of one.

Great Cleave: Kill all adjacent foes.

Weapon Focus: Hit More Often.

Improved Critical: Splatter Foes More Often.

Power Critical: Splatter Big Enemy Boss Spell Caster 1/day.

Close Quarters Fighting: No Grappling Allowed!

These feats also set you up nicely for the following Epic Level Feats:

Dire Charge, Superior Initiative, Devestating Critical, Overwhelming Critical, Mighty Rage, Penetrate DR, etc.
