Barbarian Building!

I would go with Barbarian5/Rogue5 if you are gonna dual-wield. The skills are awesome, your Uncanny Dodge will be advanced more, and you will be getting +3d6 sneak attack damage, at the cost of only 2 BAB. The Sneak Attack really buffs up dual-wielders because it adds alot more damage per attack. A barb/rogue with a Greataxe gets only 2 attacks, maybe +6d6 (21 HP) damage. With your setup you can do an additional +12d6 (42 HP) damage in a round, for a -2 to hit. Much better than Power Attack, in the right circumstances. With 5 ranks (or more) in Tumble, your increased speed, and light armor moving into a Flanking position should be easy. Drop some skill points into sneaky to always get the important surprise round.

So, with ITWF, your attacks should look like: +6/+6/+1/+1 before other mods, thats pretty good. one think i've done in my campaign that you may wanna ask your DM about, i've combined TWF and Ambidex into a single feat with the Dex requirement. Unless you are in a campaign with very powerfull Light weapons (such as guns, Lightsabres, etc) as wto feats they just don't measure up IMO. For the same feat investment you could do much better with Power Attack and Cleave.

If you go Barbarian/Rogue, start as Rogue and only take 3 levels in that class. That doesn't mess your BAB too much and you still rock at hitpoints.

The sheer toughness of a barbarian is definately an advantage, but the feats of a fighter are nice too. I guess it depends on what you really want to be. Skilled fighter or tough brawler? From a power perspective though go Bbn9/Rng1, that's a no-brainer and it even fits the class a lot. Personally I don't like that though, it stinks of being twinkish.

I'd do a human barbarian with amb/twf, improved critical, power attack, and cleave personally. If you want improve twf and a half-orc or something non-human then amb/twf/impr twf/improved init maybe?

Well, if you wanna get really twinky theres no reason not to just go Barb2/Rogue3/Fighter5 and take the Extra Rage feat. Get three bonus feats, and Specialization available, at the cost of 5 hit points.

I have a ranger 2 fighter 1 dwarf in my campaign. Of course, the player is a complete newbie, so I forgive him. He doesn't even use 2 weapons.

I've got a ranger6/fighter1 (going for deepwood sniper) and a ranger5/wizard1 (going for arcane archer) in my campaign. I play a skill-heavy campaign, and they love those nifty ranger skills.

I've toyed with the idea of a 50/50 Barbarian Ranger OR Druid. The spells and feats/shapeshiffting would be cool for the Barbarian, and make for an interesting charachter. Decent saves on the Barbarian/Druid, to.

For your question, I'd go Fighter 2, to represent his exsposure to civilization and the fighting styles of discaplined warriors. Then the rest Barbarian. A couple of extra feats with no loss of BAB, little loss of Barbarian abilities, and no cheese. You could go 4 levels for the Wepeon Specialization, which would fit a Barbarian well.

Pure Barbarian all the way

My recommendation is pure Barbarian all the way.

Fighters do have a slight advantage at low to mid levels (levels 2 to 8 or so).

But once the high level Barbarian abilities start kicking in, Barbarians are ultra-tough.

DR, immune to sneak attacks, + to reflex saves, Greater Rage, 4 skill points per level, fast movement, etc. are all really cool.

And a 10th level barbarian character is going to have four or five feats, which is enough for the really important stuff.

The one possible disadvantage is for two-weapon fighting. To be super-powerful at two-weapon fighting, takes a lot of feats. So a fighter might be better at two-weapon fighting than a barbarian.

Which weapons did your cool figure come with?
