Barbarian Rage and buffs need input please

ok here is the problem. i am just reading along hapily and i notice all these cool strength spells that a cleric will get and i am like to bad these dont stack with a barbarians rage ability. i only know this, because just about everyone is like no you cant buff up a raged barbarian. for example bulls strength on a rage barbarian. heres where i get confused, because it seems pretty black and white to me that you can in fact bulls strength a raged barbarian, this is why. PhB(p. 25 l. 7) " Barbarian Rage... He temporarily gains a +4 to Strength, a +4 to constitution, and a +2 moral bonus on will saves, but suffers a -2 penalty to AC." ok here is the problem they go out of the way to say "Moral Bonus to Will svae," but do not name the bonus to strength and constitution bonus. ok you with me so far. next point PhB(p. 153 l. 31) "A bonus that isnt named (just a "+2 bonus" rather than a "+2 resistance bonus") stacks with any named bonus or any other unnamed one."
now am i crazy or does it state pretty clearly that indeed if on wanted to do so casting bulls strength on a barbarian is possible? just trying to clear up some things. and thnx in advance for your opinions. and please if i am wrong tell me, you know silence is acceptance

Yes, you can cast bull's strength and endurance on a barbarian, and yes, it stacks with the rage.

What Hong said. In fact, unnamed bonuses always stack with all other bonuses, except in two cases:

• The bonus specifically says it does not stack with other bonuses
• The bonus is from the same source (such as two rages)

From a strict reading of the books, you are correct.

Those are unnamed bonuses, hence, they stack.

I also went to check the FAQ, but my Adobe Reader went out to lunch and so I have to download it again (over 9M), so it will be a while. Maybe someone else can look it up for you in the FAQ.

Sorry Leopold, but they do stack. The rage increases to Str and Con are unnamed bonuses, the buffs are enhancement bonuses.

I have a Dwarf barbarian/ranger/fighter with 3 rages per day in my group, and they are just getting the buff spells. His rages are truly scary, but fun.

Yes, but you can also expect to use them too. What's good for the goose is good for the gander

Also, a targeted dispel magic once in a while might take down those buffs.

It really is not all that bad. This is the barbarian's schtick, so let him have his fun. Just make sure you throw it back from time to time. Be glad he does not have Extra Rage.
