Agreed on Counterspell. It is rather ambiguous, but seems sensible to me to require concentration to actively counter an effect over time (up to the 10 rounds permitted).

I suppose - but that would seem true for any of the bardic songs that last as long as the "song" continues.

In the end, since Bards tend to be rather ineffective in combat except insofar as they help others, it might be better to be a little generous with them in interpreting how bardic songs work.

I hope they can clarify the Bardic Music description in the next iteration of the game.

The Dm in my game has ruled that I can fight while using my inspire courage ability (I am singing) but I must make a concentration check to maintain it if I am hit in combat (logic says that I might cry out in pain and disrupt the flow of the music). Failure would mean that the effects end 5 rounds after I am hit.
