I remember playing the Bard's Tale on by Commodore 64 nearly 15 years ago. That game was incredibly cool when it was first released.

Two points of note:

1) Oh My God, InXile Entertainment is founded by Mr. Brian "Interplay" Fargo himself! Not only that, his roster of staff reads like a former Interplay personnel roster, including John Alvarado!!!

2) I find myself embarrassed to say how I know this, but for a nice Easter Egg in that Flash graphic on their front page, click your mouse on the Barmaid's chest several times in succession... It sends you to www.sexual-harrassment.com. :D

Each of the other characters has an animation, too - just not as funny as the Barmaid. ;)

No, not really...

If you read the description, it's obvious this has nothing in common with the Bard's Tale but the name. It's sophmoric humor, predicated on the concept that fantasy is self-evidently silly, and the game engine is nothing like the original. Not that I expect 1985 era tech in modern games, but a first-person perspective akin to Wizardry 8 would be what I would want from a Bards Tale remake.

If you want real old-style (No mouse support, even!) BT-esque fun, go to www.devilwhiskey.com.

Nope its not the same thing, which was initially a dissapointment but I got over it pretty quick. I have high hopes considering the people involved.
