Basic question about AC

First Post
Ok, you're going to have to hit me. Never had anyone play someone with a low dex before...

If someone has a dex so that it gives them a negative modifier, does that effect there AC?
e.g. Someone with dex 8, would have a AC 9 (wearing no armor).

That correct?

Right.

And there are guys with low dex. Had a mage in a game with Con 18 and Dex 6. He survived lots longer than the elven sorcerer with Dex 20 and Con 12.

Also keep in mind that situations that deny your Dexterity bonus to AC, such as being caught flat-footed, do not negate your Dexterity penalty to AC.

Also, note that when a Rogue denies their target their Dex it is only for bonuses not penalties.

So, your guy with an 8 dex doesn't get better when he is not paying attention.
