Can small character (halfling) use human-sized bastard sword in two hands with exotic weapon profiency?

Can small character (halfling) use human-sized bastard sword in two hands with exotic weapon profiency?

I don't see why not. But why? It has the same damage and crit range as a small sized Greatsword.

If it is because you have found a magical sword of an inappropriate size you might ask your DM to allow you to resize it for a fee. OTOH that could be twice the nonmagical parts price plus 10% of the magical parts price.

I have said that the hand-and-a-half weapons, instead of just saying that with EWP a medium-sized character could wield one, the EWP feat effectively reduced the weapon's size by one. So, an ogre could wield a bastard sword in one hand, and with EWP it would be a light weapon. I know that this is not really that realistic, but I like it.
