I'm kind of bummed about the cloth cape, myself. The two things I really, really liked about the batsuit from Burton's first batman movie were the shape of the cown where on the bottom (where it met with the bat symbol and cloak in groovy bat-fins) and the nice leather cape. It had texture, flexibility, and weight. It looked like it might be of some kind of tactical use in a fight. It Batman whipped his cape at your face, you move (because those leather tips would hurt, man). And while you're getting out of the way of the cape, Batman owns you. The cloth cape doesn't have the same visual depth to it (not in the shot we have, at least. Everything so far IS based off of one picture, I hope we're all keeping this in mind).
All complaints aside, I'm still excited to see Bale's interpretation of the Bat.
