You know, that's true up to a point, at least. On one episode a fire was raging in one of the Galactica's damaged fighter bays (there'd been a crash or something - it's been a while)
The wounded Adama put the fire out the logical way - by venting that portion of the ship to vaccuum.
You'd never see that on Star Trek.
