A sacred cow of Star Trek TOS was the trioka of Kirk, Spock and Bones and thier relationship. Now just imagine if instead of TNG they updated TOS and recast Bones as female. I guess by your logic that would have been fine because you still had the trioka.
It may change the dynamic of the relationship. Then again, it may not, if they established a longstanding friendship, if you can believe that a man and a woman can have a close friendship without any romantic nor sexual tension or notion between them.Brown Jenkin said:

Ranger REG said:All they need is a proper cast with great chemistry, especially the female who will be cast as "Starbuck." She needs to be strong and sexy like Kira Nerys. The first person who comes to mind is Kirsten(sp?) Cloke who was the leader of an air squadron in FOX's Above and Beyond.
