Beating DR/Good

We're in a campaign where most of our big battles involve demons or devils. We have no holy weapons and I think the Good/10 DR resistance is making it harder for us. I found Align Weapon as a means to give a weapon good alignment. Does anyone have any spells, psionic powers, or tricks to make it easy to give make a weapon good? Casting align weapon when combat has started (rarely do we have a few rounds to buff up prior) takes a round from the cleric and fighter so it works, but I was hoping for something that wouldn't take two character's actions? Any thoughts?

It won't take a round from the fighter if the fighter just delays until the cleric aligns the weapon. You could also get a blessed scabbard (iirc, perhaps from the BoXD). Also, blessed is a cheaper modifier than holy if your intent is primarily overcoming DR/good. There's a spell in Draconomicon I believe that instead of granting one of your comrades an ability on his weapon, it reduces the enemy's DR. That way, you could reduce your enemy from DR 10/good to DR 5/good and it technically helps everyone.

Undead Bane Weapon makes your weapon magic and good for 1 hour/level. It'll do the trick. Clr 4th, Libris Mortis, p. 72.

That would be Vulnerability. Lowers DR by 5 @ 9th level, by 10 @ 15th, and by 15 @ 19th level, but not below 0. Asn 4th, Clr 5th, Sor/Wiz 5th, Draconomicon, p. 115.

Enjoy!

an align weapon wand seems like a good way to go, it got me through CotSQ at least. Or if you only have one fight per day you can use holy surge from the dmgII (1+chr mod) rounds of holiness per day, for +2000gp, an evil outsider bane weapon will negate much of the damage reduction (average +9 dmg)

In Eberron, the flame-touched steel special material strikes as a good weapon for a fairly reasonable price. Another option, if you have the funds, is to drop money on a holy weapon. (Although that can be pricy, it may be very much worth it if you're fighting evil creatures a lot.)

In addition, the Libris Mortis has the Sacred weapon quality, which is a cut-rate Holy costing only +1 that makes the weapon count as Good and still adds +2d6 against evil outsiders. If your DM allows you to get it, it shouldn't cost too much to get your favorite weapon upgraded.

The Player's Guide to Faerûn has the Sure Striking weapon ability, which makes the weapon count as all alignment for DR purposes and has a +1 bonus cost.

Try investing in Holy Ammunition. At 1/50th the price of a full weapon, its probably more cost effective than buying an easily sundered bow.
