First Post
At Gen Con Indy, players first met the monsters of Masters and Minions, and the survivors learned never to take these classic creatures for granted again. At So Cal, you'll be able to to turn the tables on us. We'll be the hapless heroes, and you can play the monsters we designed to strike fear into the hearts of men. Or if you prefer, bring a party of adventurers into our lair for a rematch. Either way, the authors of our Horde Books will be at the Behemoth3 booth, ready to take on all challengers.

Three battlefields will be running simultaneously throughout the convention: the swamp treehouse from A Swarm of Stirges, the deadly labyrinth from Maze of the Minotaur, and the ice fortress from Rage of the Remorhaz. Each one will be the scene for fast, furious action. Play them all as often as you like -- each enemy you hack and slash will bring you closer to winning the grand prize.

Four different forces await your command:

- Horde Book 1's ashmalkins: miniscule and malicious wing jockeys and necromancers, ruling the skies atop their stirge steeds
- Horde Book 2's minotaurs: always savage but growing in cunning from their brutal youth to their mighty maturity, culminating in the awesome power of the Bull Lord
- Horde Book 3's wyrmen: fire giants who survive in the bleak night of the artic winter by taming remorhaz and taking no prisoners
- Behemoth3's New Iconics: the first appearance of the heroes who will define the next 30 years of fantasy roleplaying.

Or, instead of these premade characters, you can bring your own -- level 12 if you plan to go solo, or a party of four level 9 heroes if you want to adventure as a group. Allowable characters include any of the player races in the Masters and Minions books or the "standard" races and classes in the 3.5 core rulebooks. Characters should be made using 25-point stat buy and equipped with the appropriate gear value for a PC of their level.

The winners of the event will be chosen by a random draw at the booth at noon on Sunday. Each player's name will be entered into the draw once for each casualty they scored; everyone will have a chance to win, but those who triumphed will have a better shot than those who merely survived. The grand prize will be a signed copy of every book released by Behemoth3 in 2005. In addition, the first 250 visitors to the booth will get a set of monster cards for Rage of the Remorhaz signed by the author.

We look forward to seeing you at booth #631 this December 2-5, when the best four days in gaming arrive on Pacific Standard Time.
