I did not specifically think of Audrey II for the design, but the artist did a cool job. This was my original write-up for an illustration pitch:

A colossal colorful critter with a body shape readily identifiable as a dragon, but with body parts that resembles a mix of wood, leaves, feathers, flowers, and insect parts. Perhaps scales like the iridescent feathers of a superb starling, wings like a butterfly, and a head reminiscent of an orchid with teeth.]]

The mechanics are probably most inspired by Alice in Wonderland. It's a very silly monster.
