Beholderkin caster?

I've got a soft spot in my heart for Beholderkin Spectators. Lawful Neutral, these guys can actually be enjoyable to be around.

Their central eye has a Spell Turning ability, as the level 6 spell.

My question is this- would you rule that a Beholder Spectator could take levels in a caster class, since it does not have an Antimagic ability?

Why not? They may have trouble using material components or performing somatic movements, but nothing that cannot be compensated for. Their first spells would mostly be ones with just verbal components to make them easier to learn and cast. Later they could learn to adapt spells to fit their lack of hands. No reason for them not to gain access to a class that allows their alignment...

Creatures who lack hands can carry material components in other fashions. Nagas (as an example) carry components wedged into their scales, if I recall correctly.
