Beloved of Valarian replacement

Hi,
I was working on a ranger going into the Beloved of Valarian PrC (from Book of Exalted Deeds). The trouble is that we're playing a city/dungeon based game (Ptolus) and the biggest boon to the PrC is getting a unicorn/celestial charger companion. I'd be allowed to have the unicorn but the city would restrict its usefulness. I loved this PrC because of the way the unicorn blatantly showed that my character was a paragon of good. Since I might have to nix this PrC, are there any other PrCs out there that would impart a similar "paragon of good" feel and be unique (i.e., not just a cleric of a Good god)?

Thanks for any help!

PS: While not a requirement, I'd rather be CG or NG. So I'd probably steer clear of paladins or Lawful Good PrCs.

There is a CG paladin of Freedom in UA...
Divine Crusader (CD), just needs to match Deity's alignment.
Divine Champion PgtF, if your DM will allow it.

The PRC is poorly thought out. There is next to no benefit after getting the celestial charger, most of teh abilities seem to be going more for concept rather than actual, balanced mechanics, and the restricted nature of the spells makes it rather useless for rangers, who would be a prime canadidate for this PRC.

Paragorn of good PRC for a ranger........off hand to be honest i cant remember any. Skylord would count, but that has a flying mount. You may need to design one.

I'd say be a ranger, take the three level "I am an exalted character with three bonus feats" class, and figure out some way to get the celestial template to apply to your animal companion (there should be a feat for that, right?).

We only use the "Complete" books and PHB, so I'll check out the Divine Crusader. Thanks!

That actually works out well because I'm interested in the concept, not the mechanics so much! I think you're right, designing one might be the only way to go. Do you know of any good substitutions for a unicorn that would fit in a city campaign and still have that Good symbolism?

That's a good suggestion, maybe the best that I can do. But doesn't have that good symbolism that the unicorn rider does. Thanks for the thoughts!

The problem is animals just dont fit into a city, period, unless its like a elven city or something. Large size, walking all over the streets......yea causes problems.

If you want to be inconspicious, a celestial warhorse is your best bet.
