I meant in terms of not being a commercial success because of its similarity to 5e. I guess people including myself don’t penny pinch as much as I believe. I bought it despite the similarity and not initially being a fan of most of the changes.

Thus the initial reservations.

I view it as an investment into a continuing ecosystem. If it goes away quickly it was a poor investment. I like new content and options ever so often. 5e pace was about right, just a tad slow for me.
 

Are people really that sharp in their divide?

I mean, I'm running Out of the Abyss, the monsters are all 2014, with 2024 PHB and various other bits and not having any problems at all. I must be doing things wrong.
