BEOWULF - a Robert Zemeckis film

Honestly, watching the trailer in the theaters, this did not look total-CGI at all. My wife was totally fooled, but I had seen Polar Express before and something looked similar while I watched it. But I admit that to me it looked rather almost "real".

Yep. I read RangerWickett's uncanny valley reference, and I was all huh? I saw the trailer at Stardust last night and didn't even realize it was CGI. Had to watch it again just now and keep a close look at the eyes. Yeah, there it is. Pretty difficult to tell otherwise...

I'm not sure that what remains of the so-called "uncanny valley" will significantly endanger the enjoyment of a tale that is meant to be dark and keep the audience on edge.

This Beowulf movie is just the next step in the invasion...

So, where does Angelina Jolie fall in this plot?

Actually, what is that rock tune they play during the trailer? And is it just me, or does Grendel look a bit like a DnD troll?

It is from the 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later movies. 28 Days Later soundtrack has it, it is called "In the House - In a Heartbeat" by John Murphy. Luckily, the song on iTunes was recently turned from an album-only tune to a single, so anyone can buy it by itself. It's not really a rock song, more an intrumental with a hard electric guitar at the crescendo.

Funny thing, I was in a theater for the Borne Ultimatum, and saw two trailers back to back. I can't remember the first one, but the second was Beowulf. Both trailers used this same song! It was kind of funny.

I saw the big-screen preview today for the first time. If I didn't know already, I wouldn't have been able to tell that was animated. The skin, the faces.. amazing.
