Oh! Tasha is a friend of mine! I'm an idiot for not pointing this out. She's got a lot of small light RPGs.
I am officially in love with her stuff now. Very cool!

I really like this Ranger, and I want to play one!My fave part of Moldavy so far is that having an Animal Companion(Ranger) is SPECIFICALLY called out as playing as "Two Characters" at once. Which feels like regular 5E is afraid of doing. None of that "Bonus Action" needed to make the pet do an attack. Very Revised Rangerish.
AD&D 2nd Edition Player's Handbook. When did the ranger become the "pet class"?
It is in moldavy. You can like that or not. I'm no fan of pet classes in general, but this is a great design. When did the ranger become the "pet class"?
Exactly. I remember the follower table in 2e was filled with wild stuff.AD&D 2nd Edition Player's Handbook.
Your plan to make each class sorry if unique and really different from other classes is key, and this does that well.Left out one piece - I went with pet because I think it is the one piece that the ranger can really own. It also creates a nice link to Aragorn-inspired leadership abilities. Even if no one else in the party is there, you can boost your pet.
