D&D 5E Best 5E Sci-Fi Resources

Stars Without Number and Worlds Without Number are great general resources for sci-fi and fantasy exploration/hexcrawls. Absolutely invaluable. The Starfinder stuff might be helpful, but it's going to need conversion. Anything from Traveller (especially the older stuff) is great for inspiration. As is the old Star Frontiers material. Same for the Star Wars d6 material. It's such a great game everyone seems to clone it. The referee advice is mostly stellar.

The Numenera stuff mentioned upthread is spectacular, though you've just said it's too "out there" for your tastes. Maybe use it but tone it down a bit? Use the stats and reskin?

The recently released Doctors & Daleks is a surprisingly amazing book. There are (at least) two more planned for the line, a dedicated monster book and an AP. Clearly I can't speak to these latter two as they're not out yet, but if they're even half as good as Doctors & Daleks, they'll be wonderful.
