Pathfinder 1E Best APs to Buy: Curated list.

Zardnaar

Legend
So there's a gamestore I found in little old NZ. It has some older PF APs for $60 USD. Bagged with the players guides.

Kingmaker
Hells Rebels
Hells Vengeance
Shattered Star
Iron God's
Council of Thieves
Giant Slayer
Second Darkness

I've mined some of these and played first half of Kingmaker.

Several questions.

1. Which ones were best in PF1?
2. Most suitable for 5.5 conversion?
3. Most valuable ones in USD (postage is s nightmare)?

1. Kingmaker is probably the one considered the best out of all of those. Several of those were not considered highly by many players. I think Council of Thieves was the one considered the lowest of the totem pole of those you listed.

Iron God's was considered well liked by many, it's different though.

Hells Rebels and Hells Vengeance were also relatively well liked.

2. I have no idea. Never tried it with any of those. I imagine Kingmaker, Second Darkness and Giant Slayer may be easier to convert as they both have monsters in common with D&D. Some of the other ones may have a little tougher of a time converting.

3. Once again, no idea. What do you mean by most valuable?

I've only played a few of these, but Hell's Rebels was far and away my favourite AP, Paizo or otherwise. It has the usual problem of padded content for necessary exp gains, but they're still fun encounters (and easy enough as the GM to recognize and cut/streamline when converting to other systems).

I HIGHLY recommend this thread about it (liberally cribbed from it when converting the AP):

Second Darkness has a bad reputation. Shattered Star is a series of large dungeon crawls.
Kingmaker is well liked, enough so that it got a 5e and PF2 release.
Iron Gods is a ton of fun if you like peanut butter with your chocolate. It’s a Barrier Peaks homage.
Giant Slayer has a hit or miss reputation. It is exactly what it says on the box.

zard you listed them nearly in order. I’d move iron gods up to number two. I enjoyed all of these in some way or another but I’d skip council of thieves and second darkness as the lowest rated.

Kingmaker
Best in PF1, most suitable for conversion (it’s already out there) and you play a CRPG version to get in the mood as a DM. No brainer. There is a bestiary published with all NPCs and monsters for 5e
Hells Rebels
Great AP. Quite novel - basically overthrowing a Tyrant. I made an extensive thread on the Paizo boards about converting it to the Dark Sun setting. With a small amount of work it would be a perfect stand in for Tyr and Kalak.
Hells Vengeance
Not great. An evil campaign intended as a counterpoint to Hells Rebels. I wouldn’t bother.
Shattered Star
Dungeon Crawl Palooza: intended as a follow up to Rise of the Runelords. Good if your players have ran that and want more Runelords goodness. Otherwise I don’t think it stacks up as dungeon crawls go. Book 5 goes into the dreamlands and has some interesting concepts. Book 1 stands up as quite an interesting dungeon on its own. The other parts are weaker.
Iron God's
A pathfinder version of Barrier Peaks with intelligent robot tech. Not my cup of tea don’t know much else about it.
Council of Thieves
Set in Riddleport. Supposed to be more intrigue based. I think that was hurt by the dungeon heavy combat based format of most APs
Giant Slayer
Against the Giants for Paizo. Found it quite dull. Might work well as a hybrid between to the two or mixed in with Storm Kings Thunder.
Second Darkness
I quite liked it. The first installment starts with a fun casino heist that the party can foil. Of all the versions it suffers most from multiple author syndrome. Though I actually think the modules stack up pretty well as individual adventures.
