Agreed. I turned to my friend after seeing him and said, "That beats the heck out of seeing fanboy #76394 in Jedi or Stormtrooper or Klingon outfit."

Many of the women's costumes seemed to me to be too forced; too tight, too plastic, too much hurt bottled up inside. However, there was one woman who walked in the front door while I was waiting to meet up with dinkledog that had a gorgeous, full Renaissance duelist's costume - everything perfect, confident bearing, and a pretty face, too. All I got to say was "great costume" as she walked by - she was a regular Ren faire goer/performer, if my guess is correct.

Not that I was looking. Nope. Married man, am I. Moving right along...

Speaking of costumes, we were talking after the ENnies, and a guy in a stormtrooper costume walks by. Nemmerle stops, turns around to look, and then asks in a Princess Leia impression, "Aren't you a little fat for a stormtrooper?"

Don' you guys feel a bit cheap that people are hireing girls that wear rather little so that you come to their booths? What's next? I can appreciate beautiful women, just not when they get payed for my sexual viewing pleasure. If i want to see (almost) naked ladies i'll go to a certain district that we have around here (which i won't btw, not my style you know ;-)

ps. no offense intended to the boothbabes. Must be horrible, al those big sweaty RPGers that keep staring at you with their mouths open and their tumbs up...

I'm sure if it bothered them that much (or they felt 'exploited'), they wouldn't do it.

On a certain level, though, I do have to agree with you. It's hard not to sometimes feel a twinge of sympathy for the models and booth babes considering the way some of the scarier freaks leer at them.
