Best Booth Babe at GenCon

I was going to mention this before, and it's funny that someone else kinda brought it up.
It seems like gaming fan-boys should get out a bit more.

If they want to see flesh, they should hang out at Ren Faires - there's WAY more flesh shown there (some of it scary, some of it alluring) than at gaming conventions, from the looks of it.

Oh- but that's perhaps a bit too participatory of experience for some fans. :(
Those gals might actually look at you and react to your presence.
I have not been to a Con yet, but from the look and feel of it, are the Booth Babes fairly unapprochable, and you can leer at a distance, unnoticed? (kinda scary if so)

Nah, they're generally as approachable and amiable as anyone else. A lot of guys there just don't have the rocks to speak to them.

Then again I've only been to two conventions in my life (GenCon 2000 and 2001), so my opinion might not hold much weight...

That really depends on which Ren Faire. Most of them are "family friendly", so you don't see that much skin. At least not in Tuxedo, NY, Areound Boston, or Columbus, OH. YMMV.

I think those would technically be booth hunks.

How about Booth Beef and Boothcake? :)

Calye, if you are still reading this, it's good to see you post here.

The first time I ever saw you was at Gencon 2000, about 1/2 second before I was forcibly run over by a guy with a video cam who was tracking you. :)

About "booth babes" I have no opinion. If some people find that situation brings in more crowds, more power to 'em. It's whenever people lose their darned minds whenever an attractive woman is around that I have a problem. An old friend of mine once got into an auto accident because of a bikini and a short attention span.

Like SueAnn Mishkie's Gatsby swingtop. I love that episode of "Seinfeld."

Didn't know that was a Seinfeld plot. Friend of mine had it happen to him about 14 years ago. I ribbed him about that for years. :)

Anyone get a picture of the immortal, the irrepressible...BOBA FATT (as he came to be known amongst my crew)?

LOL! i think i may have seen him there. if his costume is the same as boba fett's except it's black, and well... big, then yeah that was him. ;)

Myself, I enjoy the chainmail. I specify to the designer that it must be functional: I can walk, bend, move without the outfit falling off. I am not paid or forced to wear the costume. It represents a character, and I like it. Thanks to all who've given complements on it.

I cannot speak entirely for Clyde's model, but I do know that her costume is more completely lined than some. She seems to fit more with the theme of his booth as she is a model for much of his art and is presented as a representation of his art rather than just something attractive to draw attention to a booth.

I would assume that some other models are simply models, doing their job of looking attractive to sell products.

Why should the "booth babes" be any more unapproachable than women not in costume? I agree, it just takes courage to speak to one of them. I think it's a bit more freaky if someone opts to simply stare without saying anything at all.

No one believes this, but actually, the chain is very cold when it is first put on, then it warms to the temperature of your body. It is metal, it is a conductor. I've been warmer at some conventions in chain than I have in regular clothes. Really.

:D
