Shorty Bando

A halfling Thief from 1st edition. The others players in my group actually named him. No one else ever played a halfing, so everyone else started calling him Shorty in game, so it stuck. He's also the only character the DM at the time never managed to kill. And he was a mean s.o.b. gunning for the players.

My Favorite

My favorite character name is the one I use on-line - Harker Wade. I got it by reversing the fist and last names of a producer on Seaquest.:D Oh yeah, I played him in a Trinity campaign for about 2 years.

I like names...

Straylako {pronounce w/bad Transylvanian accent} Blood Mage, formerly of the City of Mirovar, Isle of Gate, now the sole dweller in the Place of Iron Scales in the artificial desert called The Scorch.
Grith Karjellan the Iron Wolf of Lorn Island.
The Steel-Finned Shark.
Dargor Razorhand, the Terror of the South Spiral Cluster.
Koram Mallenian, High Priest of the Advent of Jaran Soulhammer.
Delaan Mercy Valspar, of the House of Revelry.
Firor Galbrixen, former proprietor of Farren's Barrel, currently Mayor of the city of Imros.
E'Krylliam of Vrax, Lord of House of E.
Irem Thermoplex, High Priest of the Flame Lord, Prime Minister-elect of the Hegemony of Islands
Karin Iskander, formerly of Lassivander, City of Thieves, now of Narcoriel, City of Thieves Who Steal in More Complex Ways.

--the above are all from an old and much-loved {by me, anyway}, campaign. Sorry I got carried away.

And after all that, I forget my favorite...

Han Man Ray celebrity entertainment journalist, host of Transystems' #1 rated gossip show Naked Raygun, and former decommissioned combat android.

My brother was joining our campaign late, and asked for some suggestions. He was considering a dwarvish monk, but had no ideas. I suggested perhaps he had a wimpy name, and needed to learn to defend himself, or something. A very offhand suggestion.

Later on, he joins up, kicking the crap out of several orcs, and generally saving the day. We talk for a while, and finally introduce ourselves. His character sticks out his hand, and in an over the top Scottish accent says, "Lance! Lance Myebhut!"

The jokes went on for the rest of the night. He got started talking about his family, the Myebhuts, who were hill dwarves, and of course lived in Myebhut holes. His uncle's name was Plow. The other names were just more vulgar, so I won't repeat them here.

While I have had many character names, my favorite is:

Jack Ash

A wisecracking Fatespinner with a gambling problem. A combination of two of my favorite TV characters: Jack O'Neill (From Stargate SG-1) and Ash (Evil Dead).

Anyone else remember Fonkin Hoddypeak and Eggy Gax?

Not to mention Drawmij.

From our own games, however, I've always been fond of Rotac' the fighter.

His full name was Rotacidare. Not all that many 5-syllable words that actually work spelled backwards :)

My own contribution to "names that nobody else ever pronounces right" was the elven mage, Shi'leiran Syliriryra.
