Best Christmas films

Not a lot of Puritans there, many of them are OK with celebrating Christmas (also: playing cards, plays, popular entertainment, bowling), especially the Victorian Temperance movement, who embraced “Christmas at home with your family and singing carols” as opposed to “Christmas in the pub getting drunk and then going home to beat your family”.
I don’t think either Fezziwig or Fred’s party would be approved of by any of those.

its not a Christmas movie however, the miracle could have happened in April while George was submitting his tax return, or maybe as part of Thanksgiving

or to really make a point Labor Day to show the solidarity of the proletariat angels ;)
I'm with you, comrade. Down with George and the bourgeois. Up with the workers.

Whey is Die Hard considered a Christmas movie but Reindeer Games isn't? I mean, this one has Charlize Theron.

Not as well known, I think (and not been on TV at Christmas in the era when most of us only had 3-4 channels). But if you want to nominate it, sure.

1. Muppet Christmas Carol or miracle on 34th street (the original)
2. The Ref (Lloyd: So, do you think we should go untie everybody?
Caroline: No. I think we should unwrap them in the morning. It'll be more festive.)
3. Die Hard
The original A Miracle on 34th Street is still hands down my favorite Christmas movie.

It’s just a fun pretend argument. Don’t sweat it!
I'm not. I just don't get how it is even fun at this point, after this many years. But then, people here post their same argument thread after thread, and seem to be enjoying themselves. It's why we have variety, people like different things.

Yup. We’re enjoying the to and fro. Feel free to participate in other threads more to your liking.

It truly amazes me how much people want to argue about what is Xmas movie. I fail to see how any else's, but your own, opinion matters. Really does amaze me.

Look, my other options are inserting myself into whatever crafting event my spouse has decided is critical to the holiday this year, trying to break my kids away from Minecraft, or getting real work done on the afternoon of Christmas Eve Eve.
