Best Mount EVAR!

The Devoted Tracker feat can be used to combine paladin and druid. Only part of the feat is ranger-specific.
As written, yeah. But of the three benefits (levels stack, companion mount and free multiclass), you'll only get one. Guess they should've added Favored Enemy as a Requirement.

It happens to be the one he's after, though!

You also want a level in Beastmaster; check with your DM what his thoughts on the Natural Bond feat are for druids with alternate companions from the higher-level lists;

There's also an intriguing loophole for a halfling in a non-gestalt game (which you won't need as a gestalt character): Halfling Outrider levels stack with Paladin levels to determine Mount abilities; they also stack with Druid levels to determine Aninal Companion abilities. So if you have a Paladin5/Druid5/Outrider5 (pulling sample numbers at random - the build may not be possible) with the Devoted Tracker feat, he has a single Mount/Companion combo, which has the abilities of a 10th level Paladin's mount, and also the abilities of a 10th level Druid's companion.

Nice...

Question, though. Druids have to be partially Neutral. Paladins have to be LG. So you're either an ex-druid or an ex-paladin...

Okay, so maybe that wasn't a question. :)

Well, in this case, the OP's DM allows LN Paladins.

If you don't have that luxury, then swap the Druid levels for Ranger + Natural Bond, and the result is much the same.

And take a level of Beastmaster for the 4-level boost to Druid level. Not bad for a dip, even though it sucks Skill Focus (Handle Animal) out of you...

Ranger 4 + Natural Bond + Beastmaster 1 = Effective Druid Level 9.

Only if you've got a spare hit die in there somewhere.

With 5 hit dice, you're limited to EDL 5, +3 for the Beastmaster's bonus.

If you're taking Paladin levels for Devoted Tracker, that will sort itself out, of course.

Ooh, this thread got the gears going...

Feat: Companion Mount (General)
You are able to call upon energies from your celestial patrons to bestow a wondrous transformation upon your animal companion.
Prerequisites: Paladin Level 5th, Animal Companion one size larger than you, Cha 13
Benefit: When you call upon your Special Mount, you may instead use a full round action to concentrate upon applying the celestial template upon your animal companion. If you choose this option, the animal companion gains the Celestial template, and it heals 1d8 damage per three paladin levels you posses; its hide take on a bright, metallic sheen, and a benevolent intelligence seems to gleam in its eyes. You must provide all of the saddle and gear in order to actually use your animal companion as a mount. This transformation lasts for two hours per paladin level.

Should the Companion Mount die, it immediately reverts back to its basic animal form, and you suffer all penalties and limitations from losing both your Special Mount and your Animal Companion.
