Best Names ever given to PC's Weapons

My favorites...

The Movonic Mace, more of a title, really. Used to belong to angel.
Assbiter, a plain-looking longsword with no bonuses. Except that it couldn't ever miss. It did the wielder damage equal to amount the attack roll missed by. Multiplied by the target's [2nd ed.] DR.
The Emperor's Advisory Council on Bloodsports. Not a weapon, but a shield used by famous gladiators. It's intelligent, talks in a loud, if somewhat nasal voice and has the feat Blind-fighting plus 10 ranks of Sense Motive. Not only does it advise the wielder in a fight, it provides running on-field commentary for the audience. And it really doesn't like being hit...

I had a lawful evil blackguard who wielded two warhammers.....
He had a knack for solving problems with his version of "diplomacy" by beating them into submission. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way.," was his quote...thus his hammers were named The Easy Way and The Hard Way.

A ninja of the crescent moon who wielded two wazikashis, a +3 holy lawful named Dawn and a +3 life-stealing wounding named Dusk.

A PC of mine used a morningstar and shield....The morningstar was The Rock and his shield was The Hard Place.

From the history of my campaign Urensov and Vosneru they are a sword and axe combo that were made by dwarves and elves as a symbol of friendship after the race wars. Urensov was a great axe made for the dwarves by the elves (Think the Axe of the Dwarven Lords). Vosneru was a beautiful Longsword made for the Elves by the Dwarves. Both of these weapons are powerful artifacts and intelligent. The ended up hating each other as the stories go. They blame each other for much of the damage from the 2nd war of the races.

I had a swashbuckler that used a cutlass with an invisible blade (you could see the hilt however) and a strange dagger that I found that was polished to a reflective sheen. The Dagger was a defender weapon and the cutlass was just a +1 sword but they became a trade mark for me. The cutlass was called Nothing and the dagger was called Mirror. A friend even made up a little riddle about them for me. “What can you trust in Mirror’s reflection. . . Nothing!”

A friend of mine found a sword that was rusted and pitted but was inscribed with runes on it. He decided to use it and the runes began to spell out word to him. The runes on the blade would alternately be “Hell Cinder” “Hell Sender” or Hells Ender” We never figured out what the sword was but the it’s personality was unstable at best. It would do all kinds of stuff but never any one consistently. We believe that it was intelligent but either could not or would not speak.

There was the Dwarven Thrower called Beater.

Not sure about any other they don’t come to mind right now though.
 

al Nasham ("the black blade" in the pseudo-arabic language I created for the pseudo-arabic, matriarchal theocracy in my campaign) is an intelligent, evil, epic-level longsword that was responsible for the near-desctruction of the afore-mentioned pseudo-arabic country. It is currently guarded by that country's church, since it defies any attempt at destruction. Some feel that is just biding its time until it can find someone as evil and blooodthirsty as it is to wield it.

Takeshi's Fury (a thundering, shocking kama once wielded by a powerful warlord, then guarded by the monks of the Temple of Thunder and Lightning after his death) was carried by one of my player's monks for a while. Unfortunatly, he was much better with his fists than with weapons, so it never saw much use.

The same player, whose monk turned out not to be terribly good with his fists, either, is now playing a bard, and recently received as a gift the holy rapier, White Thorn. The blade is a gift from his patron, the goddess of beauty and pleasure, and is meant to aid in his fight against the forces of the god of chaos.

The longbow, Defender of Arios, is a family heirloom that now belongs to one of my players' former character. Her great-grandfather used the bow to great success when he rallied his troops and broke a siege on his city that was laid by an orcish army.

The Oakenblade is another family heirloom carried by one of my other players' current character. She recently discovered just how powerful the sword can be when she unexpectedly disintegrated a dark druid who followed the god of chaos. The sword apparently doesn't like followers of that particular god :).

Kinda at the same rate/cost as for the OA samurai? I was toying with using something like that for weapons, good to know that it seems to work. Do you use this system for armor, too (I kinda gather from your quote that you do)?

Speaking of weapons, how could I have forgotten The Serran Blade (so-named because the player's favorite Magic card was the Serra Angel)? It was an artifact-level sword, forged by a ghaele eladrin. I forget all its powers, but it had several integral ioun stones and allowed the user to commune with his deity. Plus, it was a normal bastard sword in the hands of anyone except its chosen wielder. And Skullcrusher may not be an interesting name for a mace, but it was a normal mace (no pluses or anything) the PCs always used to smash the skulls of vanquished undead.

Weapon Names

I ran a first edition campaign many years ago, and one of the PC's had a vorpal longsword which he named "Vilesilencer". I always liked that name.
 

In my RttToEE campaign, the party picked up a bastard sword called Last Laugh, formerly the property of a Dwarven Defender. Once per day, if the wielder was wounded to 0 hp or beyond whilst using Last Laugh in melee combat, if would kick in a Cure Wounds (don't remember which) and either a Str boost or barbarian-type rage (again, don't recall).

Unfortunately, the only fighter type in the party was a pretty devoted archer, and the sword was very sparingly used. (hence my lack of power recollection) I don't think the power ever kicked in.
 


Names of my character's weapons:

Ada, Net of Snearing: intelligent masterwork net, well nigh indestructible, and continually insulting everyone

Sonnescheint (German for sunshine): an empathic Sunblade

Thorn: a mighty, masterwork composite longbow (not magical)

Swift: mithral +2 shortsword
 

In my last campaign, there was a barbarian named Aradavan, and a dwarven cleric named Thurin. Ardavan had a tendency to get far ahead of must slower dwarven cleric. He rarely used ranged weapons, and would frequently get so far ahead of the rest of the party that he would be surrounded and severly mauled. Thurin talked to him several times about this, and the character finally realized that he needed a ranged weapon for those times when closing for melee would be a bad idea.

He called his +1 returning throwing axe Thurin's Advice.
