The show has some archetypes I wasn't familiar with, like schoolteacher turned president turned moderately ruthless prophetess :)

Just strikes me as another tough female (i.e. I think the character would be considered uninteresting by audiences at large if it had been a male with an otherwise identical personality).

Not even Sharon shooting Adama?

Actually did not really surprise or wow me. IIRC, that scene was played up in slow-motion, which happens to be something of a pet-peeve for me, as it is something of a ham-handed tool for creating emotional impact.

Anyway, Lost has been a recent been a wonderful recent discovery. I watched the first two seasons straight through and enjoyed the ride thoroughly. Then again, season 3 is getting off to a weak start.

I've enjoyed Dexter on Showtime. Pretty good idea, executed skillfully so far.

Watching the episodes of Lost at your own pace (one right after the other) is much different than waiting a week or more in between.

Avatar: The Last Airbender
House
Lost
Trinity Blood
Bleach

The Venture Brothers just ended, and they haven't been picked up for another season. :( :(

I am noticing a lot of the same shows here, including House which kind of throws me a little. Mainly because it is such a different genre than the majority of the other shows in people's lists.
I watch (not rated in any particular order)
House
all the Law&Orders
CSI
Battlestar Gallactica (sometimes)
My name is Earl
How I Met Your Mother
Heroes
Grey's Anatamy and Desperate Housewives {sigh} WHat do you want, I'm a chick! :D

Heroes is the only show I make the time to watch when broadcast; the Tivo picks up BSG, Lost (starting to wear a little thin for me this season), The Daily Show, Jerico, 30 Rock (very funny), The Colbert Report.

As the season continues HEROES is the show that is kicking ass for me, I like LOST but it is a level love, where HEROES is a climbing spike of love!
