That's good advice! I just don't want to pigeonhole the base class too much... it's a tough balancing act.what do we want that we can't do well yet?

There is a magic item that does exactly that...I'd like a class ability that allows my cloak to billow when narratively appropriate.
what is the class about? mechanics or thematics? That's good advice! I just don't want to pigeonhole the base class too much... it's a tough balancing act.
Because the bard gets the Theme Music cantrip.Surely they've made this a cantrip for bards by now. And if they haven't, why not??
OK. What is the fluff?I'm trying to come up with a new out of combat ability for a home-brewed class and it's friggin' hard! Everything is just spell casting or a bonus to skill... and that's not even taking into account keeping it consistent with the fluff...

It's for the next version of my Warlord class. I'm cleaning it up a bit and trying to streamline things, but I don't know what to do with level 11. I moved some stuff around and now I got a gap in the class progression and need an out of combat ability that works with the other stuff.OK. What is the fluff?
And what level are you looking for this ability to come on line?
It's not that style of Companion.Hands down, the best out of combat power is the Beastmaster's Ranger's Companion. It means they never have to be lonely!
