Pathfinder 1E Best Paizo adventure path

What is your favorite Paizo adventure path?

Hmmm... surprised this poll and topic aren't more popular. Guess there's not much point in doing the further polls alluded to above.

To be honest, the poll probably isn't that popular because a new 'Recommend me an adventure path' or 'what is your favourite adventure path' thread comes along every week or two. That means that even if it wasn't in poll form, the subject has been pretty extensively discussed by board regulars.

Yeah - I suspect this is the most likely case. And coupled with some APs work better for one group than another. One group might have a great time with one AP and not such a great time with another while another group may have just the opposite opinion.

It does seem the same few seem to drift to the top in these discussions though.

For me it is pretty much a tie between Curse of the Crimson Throne and Kingmaker. I voted CoCT because I rightly expected it to get fewer votes. :)

The strange thing is that I like both Paths for almost the exact opposite reasons.

Not a single vote for Second Darkness. What was the problem with that one? I own Rise of the Runelords but have never played/run it. I was pretty burned out on adventure paths after running Age of Worms and playing in Shackled City.

Kingmaker does look interesting though.

What reasons are those?
Hopefully giving away as little as possible

Crimson Throne - Urban
Kingmaker - Wilderness

Crimson Throne - structured, with plots in layers
Kingmaker - Sandbox, with the PCs toing and froing at their leisure

Crimson Throne - the PCs as pieces on the board, playing against events that are wholly out of their control
Kingmaker - The PCs become the movers and shakers of a kingdom

Crimson Throne - Court intrigue and petty vengeance
Kingmaker - Court intrigue and the final argument of kings

Drow, and a "save the whole world" plot. Both have become rather oversaturated.

Also, while I don't think "Second Darkness" is a bad path, it just doesn't have the same wow factor of any of the others - it's functional rather than inspiring. And it wasn't until well into the adventure that I hit the "must-run" adventure, by which time I'd largely moved on to looking to the next path.
