Best Part of 4E: Cheap 3E Books!

On one hand I wish I liked/loved 4E, on the other I am glad I don't. I couldn't afford to buy the stuff right now anyways.
Same. There's a gaping void left unfulfilled between the mechanical inadequacies of older editions and the wahoo marketroid crunch-first design ideology excesses of the actual 4E, which a theoretical 4E was supposed to fill.

I think your approach, of house-ruled C&C, perhaps makes the best of things until a proper successor arrives. At least it's compatible with 30 years of material.

Aargh! The order I placed yesterday did not go through. Only after clearing my cache files could I finally get the Paizo site to send me a new password and that's when I learned that I had to resubmit my order. Hopefully, I get my items (3 of which are gifts for two of my players)

I am wondering if I should post a bunch of my 3.5 library on ebay. I have a lot of stuff I won't use anymore and I want to clear some room for my 4e stuff. Maybe I should post a thread in the marketplace about selling a bunch of my books.

You can go to the Amazon market sellers and absolutely clean up on new or like new copies of all the Eberron 3.5 books and modules. For grins I went and put in all of the Eberron modules in my cart along with 6 or 7 hardbacks and even with shipping charges it came out to like $63.00. I could have gotten them a bit cheaper but shyed away from the absolute lowest price on a few because of the seller rating.

Earlier this past year I got the Eberron CS and the Secrets of Xen'drik books for a bit less than $20.00 shipped-both were brand new.

I've found alot of great deals on the Amazon marketplace-

CoC 5th edition- used, but solid usable condition for $5.00 shipped.

Brand new copy of the D&D 3E Gaz for $4.00 shipped (cost was 1 cent, plus 3.99 shipping)

Brand new copy of D20 Past for $5.00 shipped

D20 modern (used but excellent) for $11.00 shipped.

A compendium of classic Lovecraft/Cthulhu (paperback-like new from the early 80s) for $3.00 shipped

etc etc.

Doesn't Bastion Press have some d20/OGL books heavily discounted too? Well, they did. Not sure how long the sale was going to be for, though.

Checked out Amazon, as recommended, and just ordered a mess of Eberron stuff for a penny apiece (not counting shipping). Never got into Eberron much before, but I'm from the 'anything can be cannibalized' school of thought.

But it got me thinking...why is the Eberron stuff so much cheaper? 'Demand' is the only answer I can think of (lack of demand, that is)...or is it 'supply'? Did WotC flood the market with Eberron stuff?
