D&D 5E Best Resources for Eberron?

Retreater

Legend
I bemoaned Eberron when it was first released in 3.5 ("no airships and robots in MY D&D!") and my 4E purchases were pretty light, so I never got the Eberron books for 4E.

I picked up the Rising from the Last War when it was on deep, deep discount on Amazon several years ago. Only now am I thinking about coming back to 5E (or a variant), and I'm strongly considering Eberron since I have a group of players who want high adventure, pulp action, high magic, etc.

All I've got is Rising from the Last War. There's little world info in it that isn't Khorvaire (and most of that is Sharn). They reference Stormreach and Xen'drik a lot, but there's no information on it. Is this in a DMs Guild supplement?

Anything else that could be useful?

Thanks!

Here is a link to the DMs Guild 5e Eberron. Keith Baker authored the first three books on the community list and the first one Eberron list.

PS - All the 3.5e lore is good, so anything from those books is still good (and available on the Guild)

The original 3e books do the best job explaining the non-Khorvaire continents (Xen'drik, Sarlona, Argonnesson), although, to be honest, they aren't particularly needed. Secrets of Xen'drik and Secrets of Sarlona are the two most in-depth books on them in the 3e era.

If you just want a lot more gameable background info, I would suggest Exploring Eberron on DMsGuild, which is also 5e.

The Secrets of Xen'drik book goes really depp into the continent. it's a 3.5 sourcebook that is available on DM's Guild.

Pound for pound the original 3.5 Eberron Campaign Guide is your best resource for background details on the setting itself.

For deep dives on non-canonical details Keith Baker's own blog is absolutely incredible. You can take what you like and ignore what you don't. It's fantastic
I will 2nd Keith's blog. There is a lot of interesting Eberron stuff in there.

As mentioned, Keith put out several 5E books for Eberron on DM’s Guild and he has a blog that goes over a lot of info.

Both the original and 4E Campaign Guides are great, though the original is better.

There were 13 books and 5 adventures for Eberron in 3X. Only 2 books and 1 adventure in 4E.

If you want canned adventures, start with the 3X stuff. If you can track them down, the RPGA Blackwheel Company modules were great. You're playing a black ops team who HALO drops from an elemental airship at the start. Lots of fun.

Of the official 3X books, I'd suggest start with Sharn City of Towers. It's the definitive guide to the largest and most famous city in the setting. It's invaluable. Everyone wants to go to Sharn eventually. It's usually sooner rather than later. That would also be my "if you can only get one, get that" recommendation.

Secrets of Xen'drik would definitely be next. It's a guide to a lost continent, basically. All the pulpy action-adventure stuff is here. You'll get most of your Indiana Jones stuff from this book. It exists throughout the setting, of course, but it's mainlined here.

City of Stormreach is the other major city and hub book. It's located on Xen'drik, so it kinda goes hand-in-hand with Secrets of Xen'drik.

The Eberron font is called Masoch Dirach. You can find it free all over the net. It helps make things look "authentic." I'd also suggest checking out either the reddit or the discord. There are lots and lots of resources out there. One that's particularly fun is the newspaper generators.
