Best RPG buys of 2010?

My favorite of the year - Delta Green: Eyes Only. Delta Green! Whoo! :D

The Auld Grump

I bought that this year too, and its my favourite purchase too. :)

I'm hoping my favourite purchase of 2011 will be Delta Green - Targets of Opportunity, but I'll need to save up for that.

Addendum to my list:

Got my Swords & Wizardry Complete Rules PDF, and this book is absolute, pure win. Both content-wise, and production-wise. I even enjoy most of the art (which I'm usually pretty hard to please with) The Altar to Orcus pic (and Orcus himself) are spot-on. (Listen up WOTC- Orcus is not a steroid abuser- he's got some guns, but he is grossly fat as well ;) ). There are several art pieces that really capture how I envisioned the "world of D&D" as a youth.

AND It is exactly what I had hoped for in content- mucho good stuff from Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and Eldritch Wizardry.

Winner by a wide margin:

Advanced Player's Guide by Paizo Publishing

Other noteworthy purchases of 2010:

Kingmaker AP by Paizo

A Fist Full of Denarii by Tripod Machine

The Secrets of Martial Mastery by Rite Publishing

City of Strangers by Paizo (Kaer Maga sourcebook)

and I'm still anxiously awaiting my Black Friday Sale Legacy of Fire Super Bundle! (also by Paizo)

Actually, I just remembered that 2010 was the year I became an ENWorld Community Supporter.

The internet just wouldn't be the same without this place.

Savage Worlds Explorers Edition - now I just need to wrap up my 4E campaign so we can play my other favorite purchase
War of the Dead - this zombie apocalypse reads like a great adventure and I can't wait to run it.

Gamma World, easily.

Dark Sun would be up there if I had actually had the chance to play it.

Eagerly awaiting Dragon Age and Dresden Files as holiday gifts, so they may retroactively end up on the list...

Pretty much ALL my Paizo purchases were great purchases, but Kingmaker tops the list. What a great campaign!
Dresden Files was a great read, but finding a group to play it has been tough.
Gamma World 4E is big dumb fun, and just what the doctor ordered! Mutants and mayem in the post-apocalyse.
The big surprise for me was a little gem called Hell for Leather by Cobweb Games. It really only tells one kind of story, but man does it do a good job at it.
What I actually spent the most time and money on this year though was Privateer Press products. Warmachine and Hordes MkII have been AMAZING. The new models are incredible, and the game just keeps getting better and better. Some of my old Warhammer buddies tried to draw me back into the GW fold with the new edition of Fantasy Battles, but I just can't see the point when there's so much new hottness coming out of Privateer Press!

Dresden Files RPG and Legend of the Five Rings RPG are the two that I bought and most enjoyed reading and can't wait to play.

The 4e books, including the Essentials line, are the ones that I have gotten the most use out of so far, as the only games I am currently in are 4e.

  1. War of the Dead by Daring Earth - intensely interesting zombie campaign that I used for this year's Halloween game (which was enjoyed enough by my players that we extended it 3 sessions--and many player deaths--beyond Halloween).
  2. Advanced Players Guide by Paizo Publishing - my players are now planning ever-more-devilish things for their character leveling and evolution to thwart their DM.
  3. Slumbering Tsar series by Greg Vaughn and Frog God Games - already mentioned above by many individuals, this campaign promises to provide a LOT of entertainment, and player deaths, when I begin to weave its ideas into my 2011 campaign.
  4. Small, decorative beads that our players use to track their action points for each night's session.
May the new products of 2011 be equally worthy of taking my money!

J.

Pathfinder Advanced Players Guide

Pathfinder Serpent Skull Adventure Path - First one I've been interested in running in a long time

New flip mats - acquired at the Paizo Black Friday sale

Diaspora - fun little SF game

Adventure Companion for Fantasy Craft - intriguing settings, and more species options than you can shake a stick at. I can now make Bender in my game!

ICONS RPG - Simple little supers RPG I am having fun playing with my younger kids.

Products that I really need to get around to getting but haven't yet: Legends of Anglerre and Slumbering Tsar.
