Best system for combat heavy Yu Yu Hakusho campaign

Greetings,

My regular group is taking a break from the D&D campaign that I run for them as we are losing one member for a few months. I want to run either a combat heavy mini campaign based on the anime Yu Yu Hakusho world or an Xcrawl mini campaign. I'm leaning towards the anime campaign. However, I would like advice on which system (or combination of systems) to use. Also, I would like it to have a good martial arts system.

So, should I use BESM, BESM d20, d20 Modern or others?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

For those that don't know, Yu Yu Hakusho is a "fight club" type anime with strong mystical and horror elements.

Feng Shui by Atlas Games - If you don't own it you should. That is easily the best system for a combat heavy campaign and already covers oriental mystical and horror environments.

To give you an idea of how easy it is as a novice GM I ran a 4 hours session with 6 players all totally new to the system we got 6 battles with multiple enemies into that, including one where everyone was in freefall. Everyone had great fun.

Buy it you will not be disappointed.

Either Feng Shui or Big Eyes Small Mouth (the non-d20 version, I've been told, never seen either myself).

Feng Shui, on the other hand, I have seen, and it would work well. However, BESM was written to duplicate the anime genres as best as possible, and may be a better fit.

Well, my combat heavy Street Fighter meets Final Fight game (coming soon to a story hour near you!) has been going well with the Thrash system. But Thrash is horribly horribly broken. No balance, and the rules aren't fully explained. And combat takes forever. But it is free and a heck of a good time.

However, my first thought is BESM. Don't they have an SRD?

An SRD for BESM D20, not the tri-stat version. But for something like this, I would use BESM as well. Heard good things abou Feng Shui, but have never seen it.
