Shouldn't be too hard for an interested party to find out. How many Aircraft Carriers did the Royal Navy decommission in 2001 that were built during WWII by that specific manufacturer, loaned to Austrailia during 1953-55, and refitted on those specific dates. I do find it interesting that the vessel's name isn't mentioned anywhere.GreyShadow said:

I believe the current angle in the military channels is that the auction is a fraud.
I *believe* the ship in question actually HAS been decomissioned in the past year, but is scheduled to be refitted and returned to service in Brazil (although the original schedule had her in active service into next year), and is not scheduled for sale.
She has been replaced by the former French Carrier the Foch, which was purchased for roughly $12million , according to my sources (who may well be pulling this information out of their butts also).
