My Telepath 4/Fighter 3 in a Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil campaign recently spent 100 gp for a pillow of blissful rest from Monte Cook's Complete Book of Eldrich Might and can now sleep comfortably no matter the terrain.

2 buckets filled with glue.
15 chickens, plucked.
2 bags filled with the feathers from said chickens.
1 long pole.
2 bags of chicken feed.
50' of twine

Makes for one annoying, though not really harmful trap.

Chicken feather trap is creative.

Comfy pillow is nice.

I think you can get a alchemical silver morningstar for under 100. A nice secondary weapon because its silvered, its bludgeoning (!) and it does d8 (not bad). And it's a simple weapon!

My wizard character tended to spend any extra gold on scrolls, to be added to his spellbook whenever he got the time. You can get four first-level scrolls for 100 gp.
