Unfortunately it was debunked by Gamespot.

To sum up, Ancel originally planned it as such (as you'll see when you finish it) and said so in an interview, someone decided this meant that UBI was actually working on a sequel, which apparently isn't the case.

Which sucks, but isn't surprising.
