Beyond Good & Evil for $20...

First Post
... everywhere but for the PS2 where it is $25.

For a relatively new game this price drop was quite a surprise to me (and many others, I'm sure). I figured for $20, what did I have to lose? Reviews were very good and my Xbox hadn't been touched since I finished KotOR many months ago.

This game is really fun. It is very Zelda-esque in some ways with just a hint of Metal Gear Solid (for the stealth parts). It's not hard but just difficult enough to be a non-frustrating challenge, which by the way is my favorite way to game. The graphics are excellent and the story is well-done. I'm about 6 hours in, which is about halfway through from what I understand, and the $20 was well spent.

Anyone else played it?

Picked it up, but haven't tried it yet.

I believe I mentioned in another thread that Ciruit City was supposed to be selling the PS2 version for $10 (they didn't have any when I went).

Another good deal, again by UBI Soft, is getting Splinter Cell free when you buy Prince of Persia the Sands of Time (for all platforms). Again two games that have gotten really good reviews.

Yeah, I saw the Splinter Cell deal on EBgames.com but I have Buffy: Chaos Bleeds, Beyond G&E and ESPN College Hoops to play first. I hope the deal is still around next month as I'd love to pick up both PoP and SS.

Nope, supposed to be January only. So if it's just a playtime issue, get 'em now and play 'em later. If it's a money issue, well that's another matter entirely.

How is BtVS: Chaos Bleed? How about compared to the first game?

Chaos Bleed: If you liked the first BtvS, you'll like this. It's basically the same game with a different staking mechanism.

As for the only-January thing: I get paid at the end of the month so I will be cutting it close...

Update!

I got the new issue of GMR in the mail today and there just so happened to be an ad for the offer, which had a url for a website (yes this is going some where), and the offer actually ends on 2/12/04. Both game shave to be for the same system and the deal is for the PC, GC, Xbox, and PS2, no GBA (this is for all of the rest of you).

Thanks for the Buffy note.

I haven't finished either game yet. I played just the one level of Buffy so far. BG&E will probably get finished off on Monday (no work that day).
