Yeah, I got the same dialogue again even though already had that dialogue before.

I've now turned Astarion into a Gloomstalker/Assassin/ Fighter. He now just deletes enemies on his first turn.
Also, unlike in the tabletop version, the light cast by the Daylight spell actually counts as sunlight in BG3. This made the fight against Cazador a lot easier. I'll use that knowledge against the duergar in my next run.:devilish:
Honestly, it was dumb that a spell called DAYLIGHT did not count as sunlight. It always counted as sunlight in my tables.

Spirit Guardians is awesome, especially if your cleric has high mobility. And by running a concentration spell, the AI will target your tanky cleric rather than your squishy wizard.
Going to disagree and I don’t even have spirit guardian yet

I let the cleric cast spirit blade . Then hang back and shoot and heal etc (act 1). Probably my favorite npc

My party
Wizard-me
The githyanki-she’s a beast
The cleric
The vampire rogue
I list the other mage due to a strength fail and I sometime take the warlock for talking situations but I need the tank at times

Cheese was in the rafter the bad guy (hobgoblin I think) taking 2 attacks and then pushing characters off ledges. Also if you don’t play smart the encounters can blow up quickly. 4 vs 20 at 1 point and the goblins are the best goblins I’ve ever seen in any medium. Truly inspiring rpg

I didn’t make the deal with the hag but stalked her and wow another tough encounter (the pits were a challenge) but I didn’t have water etc to save the prisoner

This game so far a 10/10 but my big gripe is you start an encounter you could be playing at least 20 more minutes

Is there a way to spread out the party? How do you do that when not in combat

Press "G" to ungroup everyone, and "G" again when you want to re-group after combat. Be aware though that if you start combat too spread out that ungrouped characters might be too far away to roll initiative and won't enter combat until you manually move them closer.

Sure, you can like Shadowheart, but it doesn't make her mechanically good lol. She can be your favourite, but Clerics are still extremely mid in BG3's implementation of them. What you're describing is summoning a very weak summon and then plinking with Shadowheart's 13 DEX lol.

Now if you respec her to a Heavy armour Cleric type, and move her stats around a bit, well she's still mid because she's a Cleric, but she can be a lot better.

You don't need to be very strong to get through normal though, or even really tactician, so it's only something to worry about if you're having trouble. Consumables (of which there are plenty) and barrelmancy can also resolve situations very effectively.

Sir, this is Cleric slander.

A full caster that can plop down not only Spiritual Weapon (a Bonus Action summon whose damage output is too high for its spell level because "it's an iconic spell"), but also Guiding Bolt (another busted spell for iconological reasons), Spirit Guardians (which is basically an enemy lawn mower) and Guardian of Faith is absolutely mechanically good. The only character who can match her damage output in my party is Astarion with Sneak Attack, and Shadowheart is just obviously better when dealing with groups of enemies (especially if she can get into lawn mowing range with them in one turn), especially when the enemies in question are undead. The way they implemented Destroy Undead means that Shadowheart can deal massive amounts of AoE to undead, and she honestly saved my behind too many times to count in Act 2.

Sure, her stats are initially bad. But the Cleric as a class is absolutely good, both in tabletop and in BG3.

I was literally about to post how Shadowheart's story is great, but how she is in combat just doesn't work. She's not good on the front line or ranged, and is meh at buffing. I've been playing an all-custom group, and battles are going significantly better; mechanically the main difference is that I have a druid in Shadowheart's slot.
