D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Got to Saravok and absolutely owned him. Casador was harder. Raphael was harder.

I’m sad a returning villian from BG past was a chump.

And those guards of his were Death Knights? LOL. My Zoo Crew kept them busy while the main crew manhandled Saravok.
When you’re 12th level and fully kitted out, the Bhaal stuff is crazy easy compared especially to Cazador and Raph.

Playing on normal difficulty, I found the Raphael fight to be the hardest in the game, by a long shot. Sarevok, Cazador... meh. Nere, Grym and the flind/gnolls back in Act 1 were challenging given the level you encounter them at, but nowhere near the same league as Raphael.

That’s interesting. I found the Raphael fight super easy. I just had Gale Magic Missile the soul towers (whatever they were called) and had them all destroyed by turn 3. Main character sword bard, challenged Raph to duel, and used the ability that increased his AC by 4 on a successful hit. Shadowheart just running around with level six Spirit Guardians took care of the minions, coupled with battle master Laziel just wrecking shop.

I think I found the Cazador fight so hard because if you didn’t get the timing right, Astarion was a goner.

I haven't tried multiplayer, but from what I gather, characters belonging to absent human players stay in camp. With the exception of the player who hosts the game, who must be present.
Thanks. We tried it tonight, and that's exactly right. Well, I quit and they could still see my character and they think could control it like an NPC, but we sent it to camp. Seems great.

I now have two different quests that call for dismembered body parts. And I'd have three if I'd stuck around to talk to the circus manager.

I think my PC is going to retire and set up a butcher shop. Don't ask where the meat comes from.

By the time Shadowheart was high enough level to summon a deva, we were a party of five for every fight (well, six.. I played a Beastmaster ranger!). Round 1, the deva beelined for the closest tower which attracted three or four of the cambions who could barely damage him for some reason. That saved me in that fight. The orthon went down pretty quickly I remember. Wyll Eldritch Blasted the remaining towers (he did get knocked to 0 by Raphael at one point...). Shadowheart had her Spirit Guardians up for a bit but failed a Concentration check and had to recast it. Karlach, my archer ranger and wolf focused on taking out the cleric and remaining cambions. We left Raphael for last.

What made that fight hard was keeping Hope alive.

It's been a few months, so some of the details are fuzzy. Cazador... I don't recall having any problems with keeping Astarion alive. I remember keeping him as far away from Cazador as I could during the fight. I remember casting Daylight as well, because, you know, vampire.

My 1st attempt at Cazador was a mess, since I totally misjudged what I had to do and tried to kill all the vampires in the circle, but 2nd attempt was easy, since I realised I could pull Astarion out of the circle, and I could block Cazador's powers by sticking friendlies in the circles (having lots of summons is great for this).

Yeah, Daylight is a no-brainer.

I just beat him to death before he powered up.

I tried casting Daylight in that battle but it caused the game to crash every time.
