D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Was I supposed to fight the Sorcerers Sundries owner guy? I told him Nightsong was dead and that was that. Left his office and headed to his basement to steal stuff.
If you do, and Rolan (one of the three tiefling siblings you first meet in the Emerald Grove) survived to this point, he'll be apprenticed to the Sorcerous Sundries owner. If you take out the owner to complete Nightsong's quest, Rolan takes over the shop and you gain him as an ally for the end game.

I must have missed that quest chain...

I’ve mostly quit playing for now. There are a few things which are irritating me, so that I kept restarting.

One thing I haven’t particularly cared for is how sword’n’board is hard to pull off, given a dearth of long swords above +1 (hadn’t found a single +2 by Harper hideout). I don’t like being pushed into great weapon master because it’s “optimal.” GWF also trivializes combats, so that on normal my fighter is killing 50% or more if all enemies by himself.

Another thing is Shadowheart. I had initially wanted to romance her, back in EA, but by the beginning of Act Two I cannot stand her. That, and poor Karlach reminds me of my wife too much. Yet the game seems written to push Shadowheart’s importance above every other NPC.

Orin is a good annoyance. She didn’t bother me. Love to hate her.

Really felt J.K. Simmons was underused. A shame, as when his character got mad, you felt it.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time in the game picking up everything not nailed down to have gold to gear my party well.
