D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Do they have nothing better to do with their time? :)

What if Ted had to pick up some milk for his mum in the meantime? Couldn't he show up late because he was fishing for nickels in his pocket/rucksack? Or Ralph got caught on his zipper in his rush to meet the super important call of the horn? I'll stick with "this is a magic summoning horn" in my mind palace.
Well, as you'll know from any time you've had the party in stealth and one character initiates combat, anyone who's not in that combat can still move and act normally while the combat is frozen in turn-based mode. So technically, the ogres have all the time in the world to get to you and join the initiative, and you'll never notice the delay.

Nice. I can picture the ogres up on a hill. "Hey, I see that dude wut blowed the horn behind that stack of boxes down in the valley. He's moving all slo mo, must have surprised those gnolls. Ted, looks like you have time to drop off those groceries with your mum."

After 190 hours my wife and I just finished our first play thru, both with custom characters (me shadow Monk, her, Gloomstalker Ranger0, and just WOW.

Big endgame spoilers to follow.

Going to start our next play thru on Tactical mode now!
Not reading the spoilers as I’m 102 hours in and just reached Last Light Inn in Act 2, but big congrats!

The first time I tried that fight I got obliterated. After reloading and whilst pondering the freight train I just ran into, I happened to speak to a nearby duergar named Brithvar (I had to look up his name... been a while) who you can convince to side with you against Nere. Makes all the difference in the world. You could try the horn too... I finished the game without ever using it (kept only remembering its existence between fights...).
That worked for me. Another thing that helps is planting some smoke powder barrels, and fighting from the high point above the rockfall.

I failed Hope. I am so sad :(

If that fight wasn't such a pain in the butt, I'd do it over.
I eventually got out of there with Hope alive. I tried that fight at least a half dozen times. What worked for me was Shadowheart summoning a deva (which I kept active every fight once she had access to it). That is a seriously OP spell. I sent the deva to attack the pillar just north of the entrance to that room. All of the cambions beelined for the deva and could barely hurt it as it hammered away at the pillar. Makes that fight much, much easier (although not at all a cakewalk even then). The theme song playing throughout that battle is pretty great though... made the multiple attempts easier to deal with.

Visiting the healing pool before entering that room is a must as well. Also, cast all of your long running spells, then enter the healing pool, then enter the room.
